The “Music Since Conception” workshops comprise music therapy classes in the Kraków Opera and are addressed to pregnant women.
One series of meetings comprises classes devoted to the following subjects:
- impact of music on the mental and physical condition of the mother and the child and pre-natal stimulation;
- emotions during pregnancy and the art of effective relaxation;
- dignified childbirth and postpartum assisted by music therapy.
Every meeting consists of three parts:
The first part includes loosening and relaxation exercises, as well as breathing exercises (chest and diaphragmatic) with operatic/ classical music. This part ends with neuromuscular relaxation.
The second part has a form of a discussion with the meeting participants on a selected subject.
The third part consists in the application of music therapy techniques and learning lullabies that can be sung during pregnancy and after childbirth.
The primary purpose of the classes is to form the awareness and music sensitivity among mothers, expand their knowledge about pregnancy, childbirth and postpartum, as well as to reinforce the bond between the mother and the child.
The meetings are offered for groups up to 20 women and last approx. 1.5 - 2 hours. They are held in the exhibition section of the Kraków Opera's Mezzanine (380 square metres); every participant will be assigned a fixed seat during the classes at a distance of 3 m from other participants.
The participants are requested to bring comfortable clothing and shoes. It is also recommended to bring own exercise mats. Before the classes and during the classes, the Kraków Opera provides free disinfectants.
Before the workshops, please complete or bring the completed declaration about your health condition.
