Piotr Sułkowski

On May evenings, it is not the singing of nightingales at dusk, but the singing of the artists of the Krakow Opera that will fill the charming alleys of the Botanical Garden of the Jagiellonian University in Krakow, which is beautiful at this time of year. This time, the background of the opera arias will be flowers, greenery and nature, which, after a long winter, brings hope for the spring renewal of hearts and souls. Iwona Socha - soprano, Zuzanna Caban - soprano, Agnieszka Cząstka-Niezgódka - mezzo-soprano, Jarosław Bielecki - tenor and Adam Szerszeń - baritone, as well as the excellent orchestra of the Krakow Opera conducted by Alexander Humala will perform in an unusual scenery.

The artists will warm up the audience with their favorite fragments of works by Giuseppe Verdi, Georges Bizet, Johann Strauss II and Emmerich Kálmán. In addition to the masterpieces of the operatic repertoire and the hits of the Viennese operetta, the program will also include musical and film music that evokes comparable admiration. There will be e.g. excerpts from The Phantom of the Opera by Andrew Lloyd Weber and selected themes from the orchestral suite from the musical Mamma Mia! Björn Ulvaeus and Benny Andersson.
