Artistic jubilee of Barbara Kędzierska and Laco Adamik
Yesterday, we met at the opening of an exhibition combined with press briefing. The special guests included set designer Barbara Kędzierska and director Laco Adamik, who are celebrating the 50th anniversary of their creative work; many of their performances were presented at our stage and we are immensely proud of it. The meeting was a good opportunity for talks, reminiscences and wishes.
The agenda was also supplemented by a meeting with the authors of the staging of ‘Der Schauspieldirektor’ by W.A. Mozart, which will have its première on 15 July. The staging is prepared by: music director Tomasz Tokarczyk, director Beata Redo-Dobber and set designer Ryszard Melliwa.
When coming to the Opera, do not forget to visit the ‘Opera Gallery' located in our Mezzanine. At the present moment, a photography exhibition titled ‘Quotations - Kraków Opera 2008-2022’ is presented there with a selection of photographs from the most valued performances shown in our current seat. Thanks to the exhibition, you can follow the history of the building at ul. Lubicz: from the performance of ‘The Devils of Loudun’ by K. Penderecki (2008) to this year’s staging of G. Puccini’s ‘Turandot.’ The photographs, like leitmotifs, are accompanied by excerpts from the opera librettos, aligned to the presented content. The exhibition is open one hour before the performance and during the intermissions.
