Andrzej Biegun
A graduate of the Academy of Music in Krakow. Since 1981, a soloist of the Krakow Opera, who has performed several dozen leading opera parts, from Baroque (“Xerxes” and “Julius Caesar” by George Friedrich Händel) to modern works (“Ubu Rex” and “The Black Mask” by Krzysztof Penderecki). He also sings in operettas and musicals, as well as concerts and oratorios. In 2011, he prepared the “Winter Journey” by Stanisław Barańczak for the Krakow Opera (a spectacle consisting of 24 poems, written especially for the music of the known cycle by Franz Schubert).
He has performed in many countries of Europe (Germany, the Netherlands, France, Italy, Belgium, Denmark), as well as the United States and Canada. He has made many radio, television and CD recordings, among others, with the American singer Gwendolyn Bradley and with the Krakow Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Roland Bader and with NOSPR in Katowice, conducted by Ruben Silva. He is a teacher at the Academy of Music in Krakow.
