Zuzanna Caban

Graduated from the Krzysztof Penderecki Academy of Music in Kraków with distinction (Vocal and Acting Faculty) in the class of solo singing of Professor Katarzyna Oleś-Blacha, Ph.D.; she defended her bachelor’s degree at the Music Academy of G. and K. Bacewicz in Łódź in the class of Dorota Wójcik, Ph.D.

At the stage of the Kraków Opera, Zuzanna Caban performed as: Despina in ‘Cosi Fan Tutte’ by W.A. Mozart, Cupid in ‘Orpheus in the Underworld’ by J. Offenbach, Maiden in ‘Wanda’ by J. Wnuk-Nazarowa, Adela in ‘The Bat’ by J. Strauss, Madame Vogelsang in ‘Der Schauspieldirektor’ by W.A. Mozart and Merodi in the fairy-tale for children ‘Ongaku: The Three Stones’ by P. Wójtowicz.

Since the very beginning of her music education, Caban has been accumulating experience of working on the stage and taking part in opera, operatic and concert projects, at the stages of theatres in Łódź and in Kraków. As a student, she performed as Zerlina in ‘Don Giovanni’ by W.A. Mozart, Anna Reich in ‘The Merry Wives of Windsor’ by O. Nicolai, Gasparina in ‘La Canterina’ by J. Haydn and Grisette in ‘The Merry Widow’ by F. Lehar.

She mastered her vocal and interpretation skills by taking part in master’s courses offered by excellent singers: Sergiei Leiferkus, Mariusz Kwiecień, Michael Boon, Ewa Vesin and Katarzyna Trylnik.

Zuzanna Caban worked with the following directors: Zbigniew Macias, Jerzy Stuhr, Beata Redo-Dobber, Waldemar Zawodziński, Włodzimierz Nurkowski, and conductors: Grzegorz Wierus, Michał Kocimski, Paweł Szczepański, Tomasz Tokarczyk, Michał Klauza, Marcin Nałęcz-Niesiołowski.

She performs at festivals and concerts in Poland and abroad. The range of her musical interests also includes musicals and entertainment music. She cooperates with the Mazowsze Music Theatre of J. Kiepura in Warsaw where she performs in: ‘The Blue Castle’ by R. Czubaty as Olivia, or ‘Dla Ciebie śpiewałem’ as Marta Eggerth. Z. Caban is cyclically involved in the preparation of concerts and performances with diverse theme and repertoire ranges with the Łódź collective Soul Sound.

She is a laureate of national and international competitions (among others second place at the Second International Vocal Competition of C. Loewe in Szczecin and distinction at the Opera and Operatic Competition of I. Borowicka in Kraków).

Z. Caban is also a voice-over talent in fairy-tales and series for children and youth.
