Vasyl Grokholskyi
A graduate of the Academy of Music in Kiev, a soloist of the local National Theatre of Opera and Ballet. He also collaborated with the National Philharmonic Orchestra in Kiev. He is a laureate of International Vocal Competitions, who has sung in concert halls around the world.
Since 2003, he has been a soloist of the Krakow Opera. He has played such roles here as Edgar (Gaetano Donizetti – “Lucia di Lammermoor”), Faust in the opera by Charles Gounod, the Prince of Mantua (Giuseppe Verdi – “Rigoletto”), Alfred Germont (Giuseppe Verdi – “La Traviata”), Pinkerton (Giacomo Puccini – “Madame Butterfly”), Don José (Georges Bizet – “Carmen”), Ottokar (Johann Strauss – “The Gypsy Baron”), Jontek (Stanisław Moniuszko – “Halka”), Scaramuccia ( Richard Strauss – “Ariadne on Naxos”), Herman (Pyotr Tchaikovsky – “Queen of Spades”), Lenski (Pyotr Tchaikovsky - “Eugene Onegin”), Nemorino (Gaetano Donizetti – “The Love Potion”), Manrico (Giuseppe Verdi – “The Troubadour”), The Prince (Sergey Prokofiev - “Love for Three Oranges”). He collaborates with the National Opera in Warsaw and with opera theatres in Bydgoszcz, Poznań and Szczecin.
In year 2010, he won the 12th Tournament of Tenors, organised by the Castle Opera in Szczecin.
