Karin Wiktor-Kałucka
Karin Wiktor-Kałucka, Ph.D., has graduated from the Academy of Music in Katowice, and her professional career is linked with the Krakow Opera. Her repertoire includes almost 40 opera, operetta, musical roles and solo parts in sacral music, including: Oscar in “The Masked Ball” (Giuseppe Verdi), the Countess in “The Marriage of Figaro” (Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart), Pamina and Papagena in “The Magic Flute” (Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart), Norina in “Don Pasquale” (Gaetano Donizetti), Siebel in "Faust” (Charles Gounod), Micaela and Frasquita in “Carmen” (Georges Bizet), Musetta in “La Boheme” (Giacomo Puccini), Saffi in “The Gypsy Baron” (Johann Strauss), Ciesca in “Gianni Schicchi” (Giacomo Puccini).
At different stages of her professional career, she developed her vocal and technical skills under the supervision of many renowned singers and teachers. These included: Teresa Żylis-Gara, Helena Łazarska, Anna Kościelniak, Krystyna Tyburowska, Christian Elssner, Dariusz Grabowski or Ryszard Karczykowski.
Apart from the Krakow Opera, she has collaborated with the Castle Opera in Szczecin, the Grand Theatre in Łódź, the Krakow Chamber Opera, the Rzeszów Philharmonic Orchestra, the Strauss Orchestra, the Krakow Chamber Ensemble.
In her artistic activity, she has also cooperated with many excellent conductors, including: Ewa Michnik, Marian Lida, Tadeusz Kozłowski, Andrzej Straszyński, Antoni Wit, Kai Bumann, Piotr Sułkowski, Tomasz Tokarczyk, Rafał Delekta, Tomasz Chmiel, Rolland Bader, Jacek Boniecki, Sebastian Perłowski, Warcisław Kunc and Vladimir Kiradiev. She has performed on stages of Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands, Slovakia, Switzerland and England.
Apart from artistic activity, she works as a teacher at the Academy of Music in Krakow and at Complex of Music Schools in Krakow. In 2019, she defended her doctoral thesis and earned the title of a Doctor in Arts in the artistic field of music arts.
