Kraków Opera Artists Nominated to the Jan Kiepura Theatre Music Awards
Nominees of the Jan Kiepura Theatre Music Awards were announced on 14 June. This is the only national competition that aims at honouring artists and creators related to the theatre and music milieu.
Since 2007, the Jury of the competition organised by the Jan Kiepura Mazowsze Music Theatre has been distinguishing the most outstanding artists and the best performances from public music theatres in Poland. This year marks the 15th edition of the Jan Kiepura Theatre Music Awards and the laureate of the Special Award, at the request of the Kraków Opera, is Zofia de Ines-Lewczuk for her lifetime artistic achievements. The nominees in other categories also include Artists who have been working for the Kraków Opera:
in the “Best Female Opera Singer” category: Katarzyna Oleś-Blacha for the part of Desdemona (G. Verdi, “Othello”)
in the “Best Male Opera Singer” category: Tomasz Kuk for the part of Othello (G. Verdi, “Othello”)
in the “Best Theatre and Music Poster” category: Piotr Suchodolski (G. Verdi, “Othello”)
The results will be announced during the ceremonious gala in Mazowsze Music Theatre on 27 September. Congratulations to the Laureate and all the Nominees!
